This Privacy Policy explains how InternetTwist (“InternetTwist,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you visit internettwist.com (the “Site”). By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Site. This policy works alongside our Cookie Policy and Terms and Conditions.
Information We Collect
We collect information in a few different ways:
- Information you give us. When you email us, subscribe to a newsletter, submit a pitch, or leave a comment, you may provide your name, email address, and the contents of your message.
- Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, our servers and third-party tools may automatically record your IP address, browser type, device information, operating system, referring pages, pages viewed, and the dates and times of your visits.
- Cookies and similar technologies. We and our partners use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to operate the Site, remember preferences, measure traffic, and serve advertising, as described below and in our Cookie Policy.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to operate and improve the Site, respond to your messages, deliver newsletters you request, understand how our content performs, maintain security, prevent fraud and abuse, display relevant advertising, and comply with our legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information for money.
Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We use essential cookies to make the Site function, preference cookies to remember your choices, analytics cookies to understand usage, and advertising cookies to support the Site financially. You can control cookies through your browser settings and the tools described below. For a full breakdown, please read our Cookie Policy.
Advertising, Google AdSense, and the DoubleClick DART Cookie
InternetTwist is supported in part by advertising. We work with third-party advertising partners, including Google, to display ads on the Site.
- Google is a third-party vendor that uses cookies to serve ads on our Site.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies, including the DoubleClick DART cookie, enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to InternetTwist and other sites on the internet.
- We may use Google AdSense and Google Ad Manager (formerly DoubleClick for Publishers) to manage and display advertising.
- Third-party vendors and ad networks may also use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to collect information about your activity in order to provide interest-based advertising and measurement.
You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also learn more and opt out of many participating vendors through the Digital Advertising Alliance, the Network Advertising Initiative, and, in Europe, Your Online Choices. More information about how Google uses data when you use our partners’ sites is available in Google’s advertising policies.
Third-Party Vendors and Cookies
Beyond advertising, we may use reputable third-party services for analytics, content delivery, email delivery, and embedded media such as videos. These providers may set their own cookies and process data under their own privacy policies, over which we have no direct control. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you interact with.
Analytics
We use analytics tools, such as Google Analytics, to understand how visitors find and use the Site. These tools collect information such as pages visited, time on page, approximate location derived from IP address, and device and browser details. This helps us improve our content and user experience. You can opt out of Google Analytics using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Data Retention
We keep personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, including to provide our services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Aggregated or anonymized data that can no longer identify you may be retained for longer. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or anonymize it.
Your GDPR Rights (European Economic Area, UK, and Switzerland)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and equivalent laws, including the right to access your personal data, to request correction or deletion, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. Where we rely on consent (for example, for advertising cookies), you may withdraw it without affecting prior processing. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@internettwist.com.
Your CCPA Rights (California Residents)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the CPRA, gives you the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, the right to request access to or deletion of your personal information, the right to correct inaccurate information, and the right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information as those terms are defined by law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. Because interest-based advertising may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” under California law, you can limit it using the advertising opt-out tools listed above. To make a request, email hello@internettwist.com.
Children’s Privacy (COPPA)
InternetTwist is intended for a general, adult audience and is not directed to children under the age of 13. In line with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at hello@internettwist.com and we will take reasonable steps to delete it promptly.
Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the information we hold. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You share information with us at your own risk.
Links to Other Sites
The Site contains links to third-party websites and services that we do not operate. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those sites, and we are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Please review the privacy policy of any site you visit through our links.
International Data Transfers
We are based in the United States, and information we collect may be processed in the United States or other countries that may have data protection laws different from those in your country. Where required, we take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or the law. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
